Master sciences de la vie et de la santé mention méthodes d'analyse et gestion en santé publique – ‘Master’ in life and healthcare sciences, speciality analytical methods and public healthcare management

The speciality Méthodes d'Analyse et Gestion en Santé Publique (SVS-MAG) is incorporated in the training offered by the Département Inter UFR d'Epidémiologie, Economie de la Santé et Santé Communautaire (Inter UFR Department of Epidemiology, Healthcare Economics and Community Health) It is for future executives and future researchers and research professors in Public Health. This speciality is structured around a 'Master' with a branching structure (Y-type) including a common M1 and two M2, one professional, the other research. The M1 aims to give students the grounding of a common culture in Public Health necessary to their future professions. The two routes, professional and research, each have a specific educational aim.

The professional route is to train future healthcare executives who may or may not be medical professionals. Students who are likely to choose this option will be from two types of academic background:
- healthcare training for the medical and paramedical professions. The master' will therefore be part of a specialisation or change in direction to public health. These professionals (mainly in Ongoing Training) may therefore validate a university level which will enable them to consolidate their medical course of study, or if applicable, change direction towards a non-medical role.
- training in hygiene and social sciences or in other disciplines involved in public health (economics, management, law, sociology etc.). These students (mainly in Basic Training) may therefore prepare for non-medical careers in the healthcare system (management and regulation of the healthcare system).

The research route aims to train future teachers/researchers specialising in clinical Epidemiology for and through research. The current demand for specialisation in epidemiology, clinical research and evaluation requires more training to be offered in this field. It will mainly be offered to students with healthcare training (medical and paramedical) who wish to move towards the university or research route (such as DES Public Health and Social Medicine interns).

This speciality offers several different routes (click on the headings below to see course detail).
