Choosing a master'
What is a master'? A Master is the second stage in the LMD (licence-master-doctorat) structure. UPS Master' courses are designed around 3 fields corresponding to the major business sectors. Each field has specialities (18 in total) that cover around a hundred sub-specialities.
o One usually starts the course at M1 level, but it is also possible to begin in the second year M2.
o IUPs have been incorporated into the LMD structure and result in the award of a master professionnel'. The study routes are described under Master specialisms and the IUP section of the website.
UPS Master' courses are part of a shared education offering across the Midi-Pyrenees university site. It was designed and accredited in partnership with the other Toulouse universities (Toulouse I and II), INP de Toulouse, INSA de Toulouse and all the other public higher education establishments in the region under the umbrella of other ministries. Consequently, many 'Masters' (particularly 'Masters de Recherche') are jointly accredited with other establishments.
The university offers 10 courses culminating in the concours d'agrégation' (teaching qualification examinations) - after a successful M1 - that can be viewed on the agrégations' page of the website.
