The university is coordinating the PULSE project funded by the European Union Erasmus+ programme (Capacity Building) which aims to enhance experimental scientific undergraduate degrees in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Côte d’Ivoire and Togo.

PULSE
PULSE
Created through a Francophone partnership made up of five West African universities (in Côte d’Ivoire and Togo), five European universities (France, Romania, Belgium) and international networks (CIRUISEF, AUF, CDUS, CAMES), PULSE has two goals for student:

  1. encourage them to pursue Master's studies abroad
  2. foster employability at the undergraduate level

This will involve innovative, hands-on learning supported by shared digital resources and closer ties with companies.

The project plans to:

  • Develop lab work at African universities with digital support. The selected experiments will illustrate the laws of physics, chemistry and biology, and will rely on new digital tools for the preparation, review and reporting phases. The real lab work will be implemented with easy to maintain equipment. The African teachers who will be trained will ensure that this lab work will continue in the future.
  • Create digital resource platforms that are modular and shareable.

In addition to academic discipline modules, cross-disciplinary professionalisation modules will be developed in connection with local companies. A typical module will contain lessons, assessment activities and multimedia resources
