Located in one of France's most dynamic student cities, the University of Toulouse (formerly Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier) offers a stimulating study environment, open to Europe and the world. Specialising in science, health, sport, technology and environment, it welcomes many Erasmus+ students every year for an unforgettable academic and human experience.

Application conditions and procedures

Who can apply?
  • Students enrolled in a partner university whose field of study corresponds to those offered by our university.
Only students enrolled in a university that has a bilateral Erasmus+ agreement with our university can come on a study placement. Check with your international relations department to see if an agreement exists for your subject and level of study!
However, no agreement is required for work placements.
  Please note that the vast majority of courses offered at our university are taught in French.
How to apply?
  • Step 1: Get nominated by your home university
All students wishing to come to our university for an Erasmus+ study placement must be nominated by their home university.
 
  • Step 2: Fill in the online application form
Once nominated, students receive a link to our online application form.
Deadline for nominations

The deadlines for nominations from partner universities are :

  • 30 May for arrival in the 1st semester
  • 15 November for arrival in the 2nd semester

Please note: 1st semester and 2nd semester applications for medicine must be received by 30 May.
 
  • Language level
The Faculty of Medicine requires a sufficient level to follow the courses and hospital placements. A level higher than B2 may therefore be required, and selected applications will be accepted subject to a sufficient level.
What's next?

Applicants whose applications are accepted must follow the procedure below:

  • Setting up the Erasmus+ mobility kit
The mobility kit is set up by the home university. It consists of a financial contract and a learning agreement.
This document defines the courses you will take at the University of Toulouse and how they correspond to your study programme at your home university. It must be validated by both institutions (home and host) before your arrival.
 
  • Administrative registration
In order to finalise your enrolment, we will send you an enrolment form and a welcome certificate that you will have to send back completed.

Erasmus+ coordinators


The university has an Erasmus+ coordinator for each subject. The coordinator is responsible for helping students prepare for their mobility. Please directly contact the person in charge of your field of study if you have any academic questions (list of courses on offer, examinations, learning agreement, etc.).

French as a Foreign Language courses (FLE)

The university's Department of Languages (DDL) offers French as a Foreign Language courses (FLE), open to all Erasmus exchange students.

These courses are designed to help you improve your French language skills and facilitate your integration into academic and everyday life.
 
  • 36 hours of lessons divided as follows: 12 hours of intensive classes at the beginning of the semester and then 24 hours throughout the semester
  • 3 ECTS can be obtained per semester, subject to passing the final assessment and with the prior agreement of the home university.
No language certificate is required. Students take the ELAO test during their first FLE course to determine their level, and are then assigned to an appropriate group.

Housing

The university offers several accommodation options for Erasmus students:

  • Accommodation in Crous student residences
  • Housing in Toulouse's private rental sector

Students wishing to stay in Crous housings can apply using the online application form sent out following their nomination, specifying the type of accommodation they require and their exact dates of arrival and departure.
