Since May 2017, the law requires universities to provide their students with academic recognition for their social and civic commitments.
Academic recognition for social and civic commitments
Regardless of whether the student is involved with civic or social activities within or outside the Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier (UT3), the university can recognise it in their degree and, under certain conditions, with 2 or 3 ECTS, as part of the “Social and Civic Involvement” teaching unit. The types of social and civic activities offered by the UT3 are listed below.

Tutoring
Accompanying and supporting students with disabilities;
welcoming and supporting international students;
helping students with methodology and learning, especially in our L1s;
mentoring new L1 students.
Involvement in a student board or association
Elected member of a student board;
head of a university association.
Awareness-raising and outreach activities
Sustainable development actions;
involvement in a “Cordée de la réussite” (supporting secondary school students);
running a FabLab;
running a Catalyseur;
running a FabSpace;
information and guidance activities;
awareness-raising activities to promote innovation and entrepreneurship;
