Enrollment in the first year of the Ph.D. program

1. Consult the doctoral school list.
2. Apply and enroll in the doctoral school.
3. eCandidat stage (this stage is mandatory even if you have already been enrolled at the University of Toulouse): once your ADUM application has been approved by the doctoral school, submit the doctoral enrollment summary form after creating an eCandidat account, starting July 9.

This form must include the opinions of the thesis supervisor, the co-supervisor (if applicable), the head of the research unit, and the director of the doctoral school (downloadable from the Administrative Documents section of your ADUM personal account). This form can only be downloaded once the doctoral school administration has approved your application.
  • Applications will be validated between July 9 and July 24 only for ENS students, agrégés, polytechniciens, and Ph.D. students whose employment contract begins before September 1.
  • From August 25 for all applications (including ENS students, agrégés, and polytechniciens who were unable to register between July 9 and 24).
Once you have confirmed your application, you must proceed to steps 4 and 5:

4. Pay the student and campus life contribution (CVEC) before you enroll at the university.

Important for students in joint supervision
Ph.D. students who enroll in an international joint supervision program must register at both institutions, UT and the partner university.
  • If the joint supervision agreement stipulates that the Ph.D. student must pay his/her registration fees to the partner university for the 2025-2026 academic year, the Ph.D. student is not required to pay the CVEC. He/she does not need to provide any certification.
  • If the joint supervision agreement stipulates that the Ph.D. student must pay his/her registration fees to the University of Toulouse for the 2025-2026 academic year, he/she must pay the CVEC and provide proof of payment.

5. Complete your administrative registration at the university after your eCandidat application has been validated by the institution between August 25 and October 24.

For ENS students, Agrégés, Polytechniciens, and Ph.D. students receiving MESR (Ministry of Higher Education and Research) funding, follow the roadmap that will be sent to you by your doctoral school or the institution's human resources department. The processing time for applications may exceed one week.
