A research strategy at the cutting edge of innovation
The University of Toulouse is one of France's largest universities in the fields of science, health, sport, technology and engineering. The strong local presence of national research organisations, which partner with our research structures, contributes to the site dynamism. Among the other supervisory bodies of the University of Toulouse joint research units, all the CNRS institutes are represented, as are five of Inserm multi-organization thematic institutes. The university also interacts closely with other organizations such as INRAE, IRD, and CNES, which are well established in Toulouse.
This thematic richness necessitates the development of a strategy based on strong support for fundamental and applied research, with a view to increasing the university attractiveness and visibility at national and international level. The University of Toulouse is firmly committed to societal issues, promoting open and constructive dialogue to identify and resolve the challenges of our time.
The objective of this strategy is threefold:
to strengthen the scientific fields of excellence recognised in international rankings;
to ensure the emergence of new areas of focus for forward-looking research;
to promote the transfer of innovation to society and contribute to the sustainable and responsible socio-economic development of the Region.
