  • Master: Yes, but only if they are not currently studying in France.
  • Doctorate: Yes, but candidates currently abroad will be given priority.
Can I apply several times?

Yes, but only if you change levels (e.g. applying for a master's degree and then later for a PhD).

Which courses are eligible?

As part of the University of Toulouse's call for applications, only courses offered by the institution in the major fields open to the Eiffel programme are eligible: science and technology, engineering, environmental science, information and communication science, law, political science, economics and management.

Application procedure

Should I apply directly to Campus France or through my host institution?

Students do not submit their applications to Campus France themselves. Applications must be submitted by the French host institution.

What is the application procedure?

The application procedure is available on the Eiffel scolarship dedicated page.

What are the deadlines to be met?

The deadline for obtaining the support of the academic supervisor responsible for the programme or the thesis supervisor is Sunday, 30 November 2025. After this date, applications will no longer be considered.

Can I submit multiple applications to different French universities?

No, only one application per student is accepted.

How can I find the contact details of the academic staff responsible for training or a potential thesis supervisor?

The contact details of the teaching and research staff responsible for training programmes or potential thesis supervisors are available on the UT website, particularly in the programme descriptions and on the laboratory pages. It is the responsibility of applicants to carry out this research themselves.

Application file

What documents do I need to include in my application?

The list of documents to be included in the application is available in the information booklet, which can be downloaded from the UT website.

Do I need to provide official translations?

Yes, if your original documents are not in French, English or Spanish.

I have finished completing the online application form but I can no longer access it. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. Once the application is complete, access rights are revoked in accordance with Campus France requirements. You will no longer be able to modify the application after this step.

Results and follow-up

When will the results be published?

As a general rule, results are announced in spring (March–April).
For the 2026 call for applications, Campus France has indicated that results will be published during the week of 30 March 2026.

How are the results published?

Each institution will receive an email containing all the results for the applications it has submitted (accepted, alternate, rejected). Campus France will also send a letter of acceptance to successful applicants.

What happens if I am on the waiting list?

If you are placed on the waiting list, this means that your application is of high quality but that you were not selected in the first round. You may still be awarded the scholarship if candidates who were initially accepted withdraw or do not confirm their enrolment. However, the award remains uncertain and depends on withdrawals.

Can I defer my entry into the programme if I am accepted?

For both parts of the France Excellence Eiffel programme, the scholarship is awarded only for the academic year corresponding to the call for applications.
The stay must begin between 1 September and 30 November of the year of award. No postponement is possible.
The scholarship covers only periods spent in France, with the exception of certain special cases related to internships or exchange programmes (see the official Campus France regulations).

What does the Eiffel scholarship cover (living expenses, accommodation, insurance, etc.)?
  • Master: monthly allowance of €1,200, return travel expenses covered, social security coverage
  • Doctorate: monthly allowance of €2,100, return travel expenses covered, social security coverage
Are university enrolment fees covered?

Recipients of a French government scholarship are exempt from tuition fees for national diplomas or engineering degrees at public institutions under the Ministry of Higher Education, in accordance with Article R719-49 of the Education Code.
In all other cases, registration fees remain the responsibility of the student.
Furthermore, training costs are not covered by the France Excellence Eiffel programme.

Miscellaneous questions

Does the University of Toulouse (UT) represent all universities in Toulouse?

No. The applications submitted by the University of Toulouse only concern courses offered by UT and do not cover other institutions in Toulouse. Students are invited to find out about the courses available at UT and to contact other institutions directly if they wish to apply elsewhere.

Can UT International Relations provide guidance and advice on my study plans?

No. Due to the high number of applications received each year and the fact that we are not authorised to provide educational advice, the International Relations Office is unable to provide individual support to students with their study plans. Applicants are invited to contact the Espace Campus France in their country of origin or the Cultural Cooperation and Action Service of the French Embassy for relevant information and advice.

My application for the Eiffel scholarship programme has been submitted to Campus France. Do I still need to apply through the standard admission procedure?

Yes. If you wish to study at the University of Toulouse, even without an Eiffel scholarship, it is recommended that you follow the standard admission procedure in parallel. Submitting an Eiffel application does not guarantee admission: if you are not successful, you will only be admitted to UT if you have completed the standard admission procedure.
